Nearly every day, the thought "I can't belive I am getting married in XX amount of days" enters my head. It is such a monumental, life-changing, enormous event. That thought is usually followed up with a question to Jason: "Can you believe we are getting married in xx amount of days?? Doesn't that trip you out?!?" Jason's usual reply is "yes, it's very exciting." In his dry, you must be crazy, sort of tone. This leads me to believe the following:
a) It hasn't sunk in yet
b) He has been ready for this day for a long time and it doesn't trip him out at all.
c) He's in denial (just kidding)!
I honestly think that Jason is much more able to wrap his head around our up-coming marriage than I. For some reason the enormity of the commitment is easy for him to grasp. He gets it, he knows what marriage entails, he's not-naive, and he feels strongly that we will overcome anything as man and wife. I, on the other hand, feel more overwhelmed. I too am confident in our relationship, our communication, our commitment. What I am overwhelmed by is the unknown. I don't know what it will feel like to be a wife or how our relationship will change once we verbalize the commitment, have it on paper, celebrate with our family/friends. But I am anxious and excited to find out. The prize at the end of this stressful year is being a wife to the love of my life.
