I am finally back and into full wedding-planning mode. It was an insane couple of weeks. After my nana's funeral service on Friday, Amber and I were on a plane (along with my Dad, Suzi, Jay and his friend Eric) up to Reno. The plan was to get some wedding tasks done in Tahoe.
First off, it snowed the entire time we were there. Amber and I loved it!! Here's a picture of us outside of Sunnyside (which was more like Snowyside that day) and also a view of the lodge covered in snow!

On Sunday morning we drove up to Tahoe City to meet with a Laura, the woman who will be doing my hair for the wedding. Having already had a failed trial the day before at a salon in Reno, I was better equiped with knowing what I wanted.
After the trial Amber, my Dad and I headed over to Sunnyside for the food tasting. One word "WOW!!" The food there is really good. I won't tell you what it is, but I will tell you that I never had "wedding food" like this before. The great thing about Sunnyside is that it is a restaurant first- meaning the food is always fresh and fantastic. I couldn't be happier there. We went over the day, the layout, etc...
Next, we had a meeting with the florist, Julie. We went over what flowers were needed for the wedding and Amber and I leafed through her portfolio. She is really talented! After Jason and I gave her our flower theme last August, she came up with a bunch of ideas. Basically I asked her just to "go for it." I really hope that my flexibility will lead to some amazing creations on her part.
After we were done in Tahoe, we headed back down the mountain and spent the rest of the evening cooking and eating dinner and organizing table names and the table runners.
My overall impression from the last planning weekend was that I am extremely pleased with our vendor selections. I really am so excited that we chose the best professional to make our wedding day dreams come true. I wish I could express in words how excited I am about seeing all those things/ideas/creations in my head come to life. Only 5 weeks to go!
